TEFAF Maastricht is one of the world's most prestigious art and antiques fairs, attracting an international clientele of collectors, gallerists, curators and art lovers every year. The event is renowned for the exceptional quality of the works and objects on display, spanning over 7,000 years of history, from antiquities to contemporary works. This diversity makes TEFAF a must-attend event for art and culture enthusiasts.
As a leading international platform, Levita 's participation at TEFAF was an obvious choice to showcase our levitation solutions, perfectly suited to the exceptional objects on display at these art fairs. The concentration of rare and precious works is in harmony with Levita's expertise, specialized in enhancing prestigious objects through innovative and spectacular techniques.
In addition, TEFAF promotes innovation in a setting where tradition and modernity meet, making the event an ideal venue for artistic collaborations. By offering memorable visual experiences, Levita enriches the interaction between art and technology, meeting the expectations of luxury houses seeking to sublimate their creations.
Anna Hu had originally planned to become a cellist, but her career took an unexpected turn at the age of 20 due to a shoulder injury caused by over-intensive training. Rather than give up, she chose to follow the advice of her father, a gem trader, from whom she learned all the subtleties of the trade. Not to mention her mother, a pearl expert.
She went on to train at prestigious institutions such as the Gemological Institute of America and the Parsons School of Design, developing incomparable expertise before founding her own luxury jewelry house.
In just 17 years, Anna Hu has built an international reputation, compared to the greatest names in luxury jewelry such as Cartier, Boucheron and Van Cleef & Arpels. Her artistic signature lies in the harmony between East and West, a refined balance that makes each jewel a true work of art. Her musical career is another source of inspiration for the designer: "Each stone is a musical note, each piece a symphony," she says, summing up her unique approach.
The collaboration between Anna Hu and Levita at TEFAF 2024 perfectly illustrates the fusion between traditional craftsmanship and technological innovation. Anna Hu, with her strong Chinese cultural roots and jewellery-making expertise, and Levita, a pioneer in levitation technology, have combined their talents to offer an unprecedented visual experience. This alliance has reinvented the presentation of luxury jewelry, overturning classic codes of design and promotion.
Levita sublimated one of Anna Hu's iconic creations: a brooch in the shape of a crane levitating in the air. The crane, a symbol of longevity and harmony in Chinese culture, has been brought to life by Levita's technology, boldly blending innovation and heritage.
The crane, presented at TEFAF as an 18-carat gold brooch, adorned with jade, rubies and diamonds. This bird is usually depicted in full flight, next to a pine tree or standing on a turtle, and is the bearer of many symbols, embodying profound values such as purity and longevity. Loaded with meanings and messages, the crane is recognized as a defining feature of important Chinese historical treasures preserved in museums around the world. This mythical bird is a key figure in Chinese art, often associated with historical treasures.
Thanks to the collaboration with Levita, the crane has risen above tradition, literally taking flight in one of TEFAF's most innovative presentations, creating an unforgettable interaction between viewer and work.
